Developing A Consensus for the Future: A Report of the U.S. China Policy Task Force

This Task Force report coordinates legislative, executive, business, and Washington policy community perspectives to delineate the consensus that could serve as the framework for long-term U.S.-China relations. Section one examines China's economic development and trade interactions with Taiwan and Hong Kong. It also focuses on the challenges facing U.S.-China economic relations. Section two reviews U.S. human rights policy in China and China's human rights developments. The third section addresses security concerns within China, as well as current U.S. China policy on security-related issues.
