Revitalizing the USJapan Alliance
May 1998
The Ralph Bunche Institute gratefully acknowledges the support of the USJapan Foundation in carrying out this project and in the preparation of the following workshop reports.
The project on revitalizing the USJapan Alliance was conceived by Japanese and American scholars who felt it necessary to examine the viability of the bilateral relationship following the end of the Cold War. The project was initiated in 1996 and explores the status of the USJapan Alliance in its bilateral, regional and global contexts through a series of meetings held alternatively in East Asia and the United States.
