Subscribe to CIAO

If your institution appears in the list of CIAO subscribers and you are connecting via a campus internet connection, you can expect to gain access to CIAO. If your institution does not appear in the list, contact your institution's library about subscribing to CIAO.

How to Order

CIAO is available on an annual subscription basis.

To order direct, mail or fax your institution's purchase order or purchase order number, along with a completed License Agreement and as provided in the Registration form. Site license, registration form and payment may be sent to Columbia University Press, CIAO, 136 South Broadway, Irvington-on-Hudson, New York, New York 10533 USA. The fax numbers are 800.944.1844 and 914.591.9201.

Subscriptions will begin upon receipt of a completed license agreement and the specific IP address access information as provided in the Registration form. We accept payment by check, credit card, and UNESCO coupons.

Pricing

The cost of a subscription is determined by two factors: type of institution and size of institution. We accept individual subscriptions as well.

Academic

Colleges and universities will be billed on the basis of the number of full-time enrollments (FTE's). For single campus campus subscriptions, the following rates apply.

For community and junior colleges, there is a 20% reduction on the above prices.

High schools receive a special flat rate of $295.

Consortial pricing is also available.

There are special prices for independent research institutions with 50 or fewer employees: USD $395 or £265.00.

Individuals

Individuals wishing to subscribe to CIAO may do so provided they complete a License Agreement. The current rates for an individual subscription are USD $295. To obtain an Individual License, please write to jb2579@columbia.edu.

Subscription Renewals

The license shall be for a minimum period of one year and shall automatically renew for subsequent periods of one year each unless Licensee terminates its subscription effective on the anniversary of the commencement date upon thirty days prior written notice. Annual subscription fees are due on the commencement date of each subsequent yearly term. Columbia University Press shall notify Licensee of the applicable subscription fee for each year in writing at least sixty days prior to the commencement date.
